Jessye Norman is a vocal phenomenon acclaimed as possessing one of the world's most beautiful voices. She has received awards too numerous to list, including the Grammy® Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Kennedy Center in Washington.

One project which Norman recorded and which we now offer as a release is Amazing Grace. This collection includes spirituals and traditional folk songs such as "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" and "Greensleeves." Accompanied by a variety of artists, including piano as well as full orchestra, she manages to turn a program often found unappealing when sung by an opera star, into what may be one of the great classic recordings of these tunes by any vocalist.

As a special treat, this disc includes a live recording of Jessye singing "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" and bookends the record by including "Amazing Grace" accompanied by an orchestra to start, and concluding with a colorful, dramatic a cappella version. Her "Ave Maria" is sung so movingly it will bring tears to your eyes.
