Read About This Recording

You are cordially invited to…celebrate with this new collection of music expertly selected for use in any wedding ceremony!

Wedding Classics is a two-CD set of music selected by experts for use in any wedding ceremony, whether it be a religious function or a simple civil ceremony. But, while there have been other sets that have attempted to compile "good" wedding music, this beautifully assembled set divides the selection according to how a ceremony might unfold.

There are five different pieces appropriate to play while the guests are arriving. Then there are seven suggested works for the Arrival of the Bride; music by Wagner, Handel, Purcell and others joyfully announce the star’s walk down the aisle. The balance of the set includes music that fits nicely during the ceremony; here the editors have done a wonderful job finding pieces that won’t interfere, but it’s all music that is great to listen to. There are other suggested pieces including eight wildly different options for the perfect recessional.

This set is more than a cute, helpful collection for the bride-and-groom-to-be. It’s a beautiful collection of great classical pieces, all exceptionally well-played, that provide a calm, exquisite listening experience.

Extended Article

Contains music suitable for church and civil weddings.

Wedding Classics is an enterprising and original compilation that offers a wealth of fresh musical ideas for every wedding service.

Wedding Classics includes all the world's great traditional wedding pieces, such as Mendelssohn's Wedding March, Bach's Air on a G String, Pachelbel's Canon, Handel's Arrival of the Queen of Sheba and Widor's Toccata. For those who want something a little different from the established tradition of wedding music, this disc features a generous selection of especially beautiful pieces which, although not usually associated with weddings, are particularly well suited to such occasions.

The CD booklet helpfully identifies music that is suitable for secular weddings (at which religious music is not allowed in the UK) and also suggests pieces for particular parts of the service.
